Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting

Notice is hereby given for the purposes of rule 27(1) of the Association’s constitution (Constitution) that an extraordinary general meeting of members of the Association will be held (Meeting) as follows:

The Meeting is being held to consider and approve, as a special resolution, a motion to change the Association’s Constitution to reduce the total minimum number of committee members and to change the Association’s financial year as more particularly described in the Business section below.

 

Business

Approval of changes to Constitution:            

To consider and, if thought fit, pass the following resolution as a special resolution of the members of the Association

“That the Constitution of the Association be changed as follows (and in accordance with clause 4.3 of the Constitution):

1) In subclause 14(1)(b), the number “3” is deleted and replaced with the number “1”, and the word “members” is deleted and replaced with the word “member”.

2) In subclause 14(2), the number “7” is deleted and replaced with “a minimum of 5”.

3) The full stop at the end of subclause 47(b) is deleted and replaced with “; but”.

4) The following new paragraphs are inserted at the end of subclause 47(b):

“(c) from 11 December 2023, it is the period of time commencing on that date and ending on the following 30 June; and then

(d) each period of 12 months after the expiration of the previous financial year of the association, commencing on 1 July and ending on the following 30 June.” ”
